What you know was never ever written

The world cannot comprehend

The wealthy asked jesus how he could get into heaven, and then jesus told him to sell all his possesions, thereafter he walked away in sorrow.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

How much should I earn to earn enough to be poor enough to be in the kingdom of heaven?

Can anyone tell me how much i should have to be able to do so?

Before one casts the first stone, make sure that it was from the bible, and not from your own consciousness, because then one no longer depends on the unshakability of the word of god. Secondly, the concept of the holy spirit and how it guides is foreign to me so it shall never be used in your argument. The closest thing the holy spirit is to me is your own introspection.

With this two caveats in mind, show me your answer.

perhaps you should quote it correctly first...
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven"...

poor in spirit, in another Biblical translation (NLT) is 'those who realise their need for him'

so then hence, its not talking about poor in monetary terms but the knowledge that we are not perfect and can not earn our ways to heaven...

people try to with good works, practising religion, education, morals but we all fall short...

pretty depressing really until God provided grace (undeserved favour) for all humankind through Jesus that we might have passage into heaven but also a personal relationship with God.

In dying on the cross, he paid the fine/penalty/consequences for our wrongdoings (necessary because God is a just God- wrongs must be held accountable)and in rising again he gave us new hope, a new future, a new life and purpose if we put our trust in him.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that WHOEVER believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life".

So in answer to your question, you can never earn enough to be in the kingdom of heaven. You just have to accept the gift that is freely offered to all who will receive.

If you would like the exact Bible references that I've based my answer on, just post again and I'll be checking here :)

God bless.

Hi, I have a reply for you, but I'd like to open up a channel of communication via email. Could we continue from there?

Could you email me "hi, I am (so and so from the americana blog)" so I'll know its you and I can reply appropriately through that channel?

Thanks! :)

Nicky
